Porto promotes new initiatives for a better tourism: "Yours truly, Porto"

Porto’s City Council aims to transform tourism through a sustainable and diversified plan. The project focuses on balancing growth and local needs, involving strategic partners to promote harmonious development in the city.

"At the Porto City Hall, we are fully aligned with the concept of building a better future." This was the premise with which the Councilor for Tourism and Internationalization gave, during the international meeting BOOST - Building Better Tourism, at Casa da Música, the news of the launch of "Yours Truly, Porto", the map that will show the world new narratives for a vision of the sustainable future of the destination.

For Catarina Santos Cunha, "the key word is indeed 'better'." "Tourism cannot be seen as a threat. It is an opportunity for economic, social, and cultural growth," states the councilor, certain that this path is traveled by "building better tourism."

And this, she believes, is done with a long-term vision. In other words, with "Yours Truly, Porto," "a macro plan, already underway, that involves a broad ecosystem of partners that help us think and build a new positioning for the city."

Believing in tourism with a purpose, Catarina Santos Cunha emphasizes that Porto wants to be "a city with open arms and a vibrant heart." It is for this city, "truly cohesive, truly diverse, and truly balanced," that the new map has already gathered more than two dozen active initiatives.
