Imagine setting off for a weekend getaway in Porto, Portugal, where a blend of history and modern luxury awaits at the recently inaugurated Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel. This Marriott Bonvoy boutique hotel embodies the art of living in a city that has become a beacon for tourists from around the globe.

Nestled by the iconic Douro River, known for its steep vineyards and the world-renowned port wine, the Renaissance Porto Lapa marks the first Marriott Bonvoy Renaissance hotel in Portugal, located in the historic Lapa district. Once the choice residence of aristocrats and high society since 1770, this area is also home to many foreign embassies, adding to its prestigious allure.

Scheduled to open in the fall of 2023, the Renaissance Porto Lapa fits seamlessly into the Marriott legacy of boutique-style hotels, much like the AC Hotels and Autograph Collection's AC Strasbourg or La Caserne Chanzy in Reims. This city hotel offers the charm of Porto's historic downtown without the hustle and bustle, conveniently located just a five-minute walk from the main attractions.

Designed by local architecture firms Visioarq Arquitectos and Broadway Malyan, the hotel's aesthetic features clean lines, pastel colors, gold, and pink hues, set against a deep petrol blue, mirroring the palette of the Douro River. With 163 rooms, including four suites nestled in a burgeoning park, the Renaissance Porto Lapa hosts the typical gastronomic restaurant and two cocktail bars—one on the ground floor with a speakeasy vibe and another on the rooftop beside a vast infinity pool.

This rooftop is as renowned for its mixologists' creations as it is for the breathtaking views it offers of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. Without a doubt, the Renaissance Porto Lapa stands as the ideal spot for a city break in Porto, promising an unforgettable blend of luxury, history, and cultural immersion.
