Mercan Group Strengthens Position in the Algarve with Hotel Califórnia Urban Beach

The Mercan Group reinforces the investment in the Algarve region with the acquisition of the Hotel Califórnia Urban Beach, located at Praia dos Pescadores in Albufeira, which has been under the management of AHM – Ace Hospitality Management, a company that belongs to the Mercan Group, responsible for the management and development of hotel assets, since the beginning of April.

The acquisition of the Hotel California Urban Beach by the Mercan Group was completed at the end of 2023. However, it is only now, after the transition period, that the Praia dos Pescadores hotel is officially managed by the Mercan Group.

This investment by Mercan Group, valued at more than 13 million euros, includes the refurbishment of the property itself and has enabled the Hotel California to create 31 jobs. This reinforces the group's confidence in the hotel potential within the Algarve region. Here, the group already has several projects under development: the Hotel Indigo Faro Ribeirinha, the Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn Lagos, Marriott Lagos, and the Hard Rock Hotel Algarve in Portimão, which is scheduled to open in 2026.
