Arts Hotel Porto inaugurates its first exhibition featuring the talent of artist Daniel Lamas

This is the first artistic initiative by the Arts Hotel Porto, located in the heart of downtown Porto, and it will occupy various areas of the establishment with works by Daniel Lamas. The visual artist explores color, screen printing, and everyday objects to create creative, original, and memorable pieces.

Its geographic proximity to the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto and the fact that it is surrounded by street art interventions make the Arts Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, a privileged place to showcase talent, promote synergies, and establish artistic relationships. In the epicenter of Porto’s nightlife, the hotel inaugurates its first cultural initiative and will host the solo exhibition of visual artist Daniel Lamas from July 18 to August 31.

Self-taught and fascinated by color and three-dimensionality, Daniel Lamas focuses on new techniques and forms of expression. Besides screen printing, he develops pieces using improbable everyday materials, such as buttons instead of paints, to bring different shapes and textures to life.

“Each isolated button appears to have only a single functional purpose, but together they become larger and gain three-dimensionality. By subverting their initial function, they confuse the senses and force the brain to create other mechanisms of perception,” explains the artist.

Spread across various areas of the hotel, Daniel Lamas will exhibit seven works where imagination, creativity, and originality are present and aim to provide a new perspective on the world and its surroundings. The solo exhibition by Daniel Lamas opens on July 18 at 6:00 PM and will be on display at the Arts Hotel Porto until August 31.
