BLSS U: The New Gastro Bar in Sé Catedral Hotel is the latest trend in Porto

Blss U is the newest culinary experience in Invicta, located in the heart of Porto's vibrant lifestyle and culture scene. The innovative menu at the new restaurant of Sé Catedral Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is ready to surprise and delight its guests with a fresh, out-of-the-box concept.

This new concept for gastronomy offers a daring and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for an evening cocktail, or a sophisticated dinner. The concept fosters a spirit of experimentation, with a menu curated by chef Xavier Oliveira, under the guidance of chef Miguel Rocha Vieira. Located near the Sé Cathedral and São Bento Station, more precisely on Rua Chã with views extending to the Clérigos Tower, thee atmosphere is bold and inviting, and the concept revolves around creating a space that encourages experimentation, starting with a menu  drawing inspiration from the seven deadly sins.

These dishes promise an "explosion of flavors" designed to "awaken the senses," while simultaneously provoking and soothing, as chef Miguel Rocha Oliveira stated during Blss U’s grand opening. Portuguese cuisine serves as the main inspiration, though the menu reflects international influences, much like Porto itself—an increasingly cosmopolitan city that remains proud of its roots and traditions. With gluttony being one of the most common of the seven deadly sins, Blss U’s guiding principle is that "every sin began with a bite." The starters selection includes a bao filled with suckling pig, duck rice croquettes, an octopus and chickpea salad, a vegan version of caldo verde, and a creative twist on the francesinha, aptly named “a semi-Asian francesinha.” “In this dish, we roll the bread, wrap it in nori seaweed, stuff it with traditional Portuguese sausages, and serve it with the famous spicy sauce,” says chef Miguel Rocha Vieira.

The vegetarian options do not disappoint, offering a tribute to comfort food. A reinvented version of arroz de sarrabulho made with a variety of mushrooms—cooked and dehydrated—arrives at the table in a cast iron pot. The traditional fish stew is transformed into a blend of various seaweeds, tofu, and chickpeas. Equally comforting is the cauliflower, served with grapes, hazelnuts, and Madras curry.

For those who prefer heartier, meat-based comfort food, there’s a slow-cooked Iberian pork cheek, served with baked rice and carqueja. Blss U is part of the Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and operates daily, serving lunch from 12:00 to 15:30 and dinner from 19:00 to 23:30.
