The most anticipated flights: Algarve will have, for the first time, direct connections to the USA in 2025

North American company United Airlines announced that it will begin operating, from New York, four flights a week to Faro on May 16, in addition to three flights a week to Funchal on June 7, and it is already having impacts on the investors' economy.


It is a historic milestone for the Algarve, which next year will have, for the first time, direct air connections to the United States, which are already being sold by United Airlines. The North American company also announced direct flights to Madeira for 2025, and these routes are already generating high expectations in relation to the flourishing market of North American tourists, who last year generated revenues of almost 2.5 billion in Portugal.

Turismo de Portugal institution highlighted that 'with this new route, all national airports now have direct connections to the United States,' and the country now has a flight that is 'strategic for Portuguese tourism, especially relevant due to the positive impact it will have on promoting international tourism in Portugal and strengthening air connectivity with a market of great importance and significant growth'.

With these new seasonal routes in 2025, operated by the North American company United Airlines, the Algarve will have four weekly flights, between May 16th and September 22nd, connecting Faro to New York (Newark airport) - from where three flights will also depart weekly trips to Funchal, from June 7th to September 24th. It is worth remembering that Madeira was already served by direct flights from New York by Azores Airlines.
