Tourism revenues expected to exceed 27 billion euros

Forecast for this year by Turismo de Portugal in 'Tourism Strategy 2035: The challenges of the sector'. Theme addressed by Carlos Abade, president of Turismo de Portugal, in the 'break' between the two thematic panels of the conference cycle 'Tourism Strategy 2035: building the tourism of the future', which took place in Funchal on October 28th. 

He confirmed that the forecasts for tourism revenues in Portugal this year should exceed 27 billion euros. "We will probably reach the end of the year with revenues of more than 27 billion euros," said Carlos Abade. There are two billion more than the revenues recorded last year and anticipates by three years the forecast of such an amount, expected to only be reached in 2027.

In a speech that took an X-ray of tourism in Portugal, and beyond, the president of Turismo de Portugal, highlighted the numbers of Tourism in Madeira, which greatly contributes to Portugal being the 10th most competitive tourist destination in the world. He chose nonconformity, ambition and productivity as fundamental dimensions for the tourism strategy in the next decade.
