In 2022, Mercan Properties Group and Hilton announced an agreement to operate two new hotels in Lagos, with construction work already underway. Both hotels will be designed by the Broadway Malyan architecture studio.

The two hotel units, which will operate under the Hilton brand as Lagos Marina Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Lagos, are being developed by Mercan Properties Group and will be part of the portfolio of hotel and tourism projects signed by Broadway Malyan in Portugal.

Broadway Malyan was responsible for the urbanism, architecture, interior design and landscape architecture projects of both hotels, which are being developed on adjacent lots, and integrated into a redeveloped urban space. The two buildings, elegant and contemporary, take advantage of the quality of light and the unique atmosphere of the region, enriching the Algarve's diverse resort market.

The Hilton Garden Inn will total 90 rooms, including 9 suites and 17 apartments/studios, and will be within walking distance of Lagos Marina. You will have a large terrace on the top floor, with a swimming pool and bar overlooking the surrounding landscape. The Curio Collection by Hilton hotel, with 180 rooms, was designed with a complementary palette of materials, ensuring the overall reading of both buildings, although with greater emphasis on contemporary natural elements.

The hotel includes a large and bright lounge in the lobby, an indoor pool and a spa, as well as a large shaded outdoor space, with connection to the restaurant, which will be permanently open and includes a living area with an outdoor fireplace, with panoramic views over the Marina de Lagos and the ocean.

Margarida Caldeira, Global Head of Hospitality at Broadway Malyan, said: "I am very excited that our projects developed with Mercan are now moving forward on the ground", adding that "the design of these hotels is a confident response to the local context of the marina, the old station and the school that is nearby. Surrounded by a renewed, contemporary and luxuriant landscape, these hotels will considerably improve the experience of arriving at the marina and contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the seafront as a tourist destination».
