With sharing as its central theme, the new L'Égoïste Bar & Restaurant offers a true gastronomic journey, reflecting the diverse dimensions of the country through its flavors. Amid the hustle and bustle of the city’s hectic routines, there are moments that call for quiet and tranquility, experiences that engage all five senses and invite us to explore new horizons.

For the much-deserved rest, sometimes it’s the flavors that take us on unexpected journeys, allowing us to explore different worlds without leaving the place. Thus, L'Égoïste Bar & Restaurant is the new concept of the Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel, taking us on a gastronomic journey from the Algarve to Beira Baixa, with flavors from both land and sea, resulting in surprising combinations of ingredients.

To kick off this sensory journey, starters take center stage, such as the stuffed crab, a homage to the classic Portuguese seafood restaurants and beer houses, as well as the spicy mackerel from Conservas Pinhais, paying tribute to the national canning industry. For those seeking something different, there’s also a bold interpretation of the classic Porto-style francesinha, where Portuguese cuisine is reinvented in a harmonious play of unexpected flavors.

In the main courses, the spotlight is on the freshest fish and seafood, sourced directly from the sea of Póvoa de Varzim, as well as the scarlet prawn from Costa Vicentina, featured in dishes designed for leisurely afternoons savoring the finest national ingredients. For those craving comfort food, the Brewer’s Steak and Algarve-Style Pork stand out as hearty and warming options, perfect for colder days. Among the vegetarian dishes, the fregola pasta with wild mushrooms takes center stage, presented in a way that evokes the typical misty winter mornings of mushroom foraging in Beira Baixa. For those seeking a lactose-free, gluten-free, or sulfite-free option, there’s also beetroot gnocchi with baby vegetables and green basil curry.

To complete this journey through the flavors of Portugal, a cocktail menu inspired by the country's ecosystems - Native - is also featured. Ingredients like crayfish, acorn, and tangerine echo in sophisticated creations, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Open daily from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, the L'Égoïste Bar & Restaurant also offers cultural programming on Fridays and Saturdays, with DJs and live music, delivering an immersive experience.
