The Ambitur.pt continues to give you a little better knowledge of the professionals who work in the national hotel sector. Today we are talking to Rita Nogueira, Cluster Sales Manager at AHM, current position: Cluster Sales Manager at AHM | Marriott, IHG, Wyndham and Hilton / Lecturer at the School of Hospitality and Tourism of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.

What is the focus of your professional role?

As Cluster Sales Manager my main focus is to optimize the sales of the group's hotel units, grow the hotels' accommodation and F&B revenue, and increase the distribution and segmentation of sales of each unit. In addition to the main objectives of the function, it is essential to monitor and interact with distribution partners, constant communication with the operation of the hotels, daily management of the pick-up, and proactive work with the Revenue Management department.

What do you privilege the most, in life and as a professional?

I am a person of people, family, and friends, of human relationships and interactions. I privilege the fact that, even working in hospitality, I live with my loved ones, and learn more and more to value the time I have with them. I like to have time for myself, to travel, and to get to know each other, I like to go, but I definitely love coming home.

As a professional in the hotel and tourism sector, I feel that without a doubt I am in the right profession. Although hospitality is an intense activity, constantly changing and innovating, I feel that there would be nothing that would make me happier. The experiences I live daily are unique and have shaped me over the years. I also have the opportunity to teach and transmit knowledge to future generations, which are the guarantee of quality in the hotel sector in our country. In my work, I also value the fact that I deal with the largest international hotel brands and that I know different realities within the sector.

In short, I feel professionally fulfilled, and happy to be able to maintain the balance between my work, my personal life, and my passions.
