From the Algarve to Porto, with four or five stars, there are many hotel units that will open throughout 2025. Portugal has been attracting increasing investment from national and international hotel chains. This interest results, in large part, from the tourist success of our country. In 2024, Portugal recorded record results, exceeding 27 billion euros in tourist revenue, receiving more than 30 million tourists and 80 million overnight stays, according to data revealed by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, in December.

This exponential growth in tourism is driving the construction of hotel units. A report by specialized consultancy Lodging Econometrics (LE), released in August 2024, predicts the opening of 114 new hotels in Portugal by 2026, making it the fifth country in Europe with the highest number of openings planned for the next two years. In fact, several of these hotel infrastructures are preparing to welcome their first guests in 2025. From the north to the south of the country, some of the hotel units that will open (or reopen with new features) throughout the year are already known.

Santo André Beach Hotel

In 2025, the Hilton group plans to begin operating the Santo André Beach Hotel, which will be the debut of an international hotel brand in Comporta. With approximately 44 rooms and a privileged beachfront location, the development amidst nature will be part of the Tapestry by Hilton Collection.

Double Tree by Hilton Lisbon Airport

Furthermore, a recent agreement will also allow the construction of a new hotel in Lisbon, in the office area adjacent to Humberto Delgado Airport. The Double Tree by Hilton Lisbon Airport will have 199 rooms and 20 suites, scheduled to open this year, becoming the group's sixth unit in the capital.
