L’Égoïste Bar & Restaurant celebrates Peruvian cuisine with 7 course-menu

L’Égoïste Bar & Restaurant will embark on a culinary journey to Peru with two very special dinners, on March 28 and 29. This gastronomic experience will be led by 3 Portuguese chefs and one Peruvian.

Known for its fusion of Spanish, African, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese cuisines, the Peruvian gastronomy will surprise guests with dinners ate the L’Égoïste Bar & Restaurant, located in the Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel, on March 28th and 29th. This gastronomic event is a seven-course dinner in tribute to the country.

The dinners will be a collaboration in 8 hands. This exclusive menu is a cooperation between 4 chefs: Miguel Pinto, Executive Chef of L’Égoïste Bar & Restaurant, Ricardo Tiago, Executive Pastry Chef of L’Égoïste Bar & Restaurant, Miguel Rocha Vieira, Head Chef responsible for the gastronomic concepts at AHM – Ace Hospitality Management, and Juan Carlos Perret, Executive Chef of Kero Restaurant, in Vigo.

The experience begins with a selection of canapés and beverages. The welcoming table service features a bread and lime butter and Patacón Amazónico, a delicacy made from fried slices of green banana.

For the first course, guests will be served a salmon tiradito, sliced sashimi-style and drizzled with sudachi sauce, giving a fresh and acid taste. It follows a sea bass ceviche with a classic Peruvian dish: rocoto leche de tigre, yuzu, and glazed sweet potato. Next comes the causa rellena with chicken, served with lime and olives in a casserole-style presentation, and a traditional Peruvian-style red snapper sudado.

The meal continues with pork cheek served with fregola and wild mushrooms, accompanied by the traditional Chicha Morada. This typical Peruvian drink is made from purple corn, along with fruits, such as apple, lemon, or pineapple, and spices.

For dessert, there will be crème brûlée made with lucuma, pisco sour, and cocoa—an innovative combination of ingredients, textures, and aromas.

The two dinners at L’Égoïste Bar & Restaurant on March 28 and 29 will begin at 7:30 PM. The seating is limited and there are mandatory reservations, which can be made by calling +351 916 876 093 or emailing legoiste@legoisteporto.com.

The dinner is priced at €90 per person and includes a welcome drink as well as a selection of non-alcoholic beverages (water, juices, soft drinks, coffee, and teas). Additionally, it will be available a wine list will, along with a special selection of three cocktails inspired by pisco sour, Peru’s most famous drink.

This initiative is a collaboration with the Embassy of Peru in Portugal. The aim is to showcase and offer a taste of the country’s rich gastronomy. Important to remember that in 2024, Peru was awarded the title of "World’s Best Culinary Destination" for the twelfth time by the World Travel Awards.
