The largest hotel in Amadora, Moxy Alfragide, rises at the entrance to Quinta Grande, next to Rua Nacional (National Road) 117. Since its inauguration on September 15, it has quickly secured a prominent place in the municipality. Designed to meet different guest profiles, it combines scale, modern services, and a strong connection to the surrounding business community.

The development, which represents an investment of €63 million and led to the creation of nearly 400 direct and indirect jobs, was chosen by the NiA editorial team as the Opening of the Year in Amadora. “This distinction recognizes our differentiated, service-excellence-driven proposition, as well as the professionalism and dedication of our teams,” emphasizes the hotel’s general manager, André Ornelas, to NiA.

The hotel features 218 rooms of various types (twin, queen, suites, and rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility) and follows the brand’s signature philosophy: check-in takes place at the bar, accompanied by a welcome drink, reinforcing Moxy’s informal and social atmosphere. Among the amenities are a heated indoor pool, a 24-hour gym, and a convention center equipped to host meetings and events for up to 300 participants.

The hotel - the fourth Marriott brand property launched by Mercan Properties and managed by AHM – Ace Hospitality Management - marks the group’s entry into Lisbon and unfolds across three main dimensions. A clearly business-oriented dimension benefits from its location in Alfragide, a parish that concentrates laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, and several technology firms. Another, more relaxed facet is aimed at younger and family audiences, with twin and double rooms, an indoor pool, a permanent gym, and a spacious terrace designed for leisure moments. The third component is a coworking space, where students, independent workers, and corporate teams can develop projects in private rooms or shared areas, with Wi-Fi and other support resources.

The landscaped inner courtyard, with capacity for up to 200 people and bathed in natural light, stands as one of the hotel’s central hubs, ideal for corporate gatherings, private celebrations, or social get-togethers. The focus on the business segment will continue to be a priority, assures André Ornelas, making the most of the Moxy’s positioning “at the gates of Lisbon, with excellent access, and at the center of a highly dynamic business park.”

The investment in the more social side will also continue, namely through happy hours, during which the entire drinks menu is served at half price. These take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., always with a DJ set to liven up the late afternoons.

As for the near future, the general manager revealed to NiA that the lower floor will host “a farm-to-table restaurant project.” The opening date and details have not yet been disclosed, but André Ornelas makes the expectation clear: “it’s a project we are very excited about.”
